City commences with road resurfacing in Lotus River and Grassy Park
19 February 2025
The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate advises the public of roadworks along Klip Road from De Wet Road to Strandfontein Road in Lotus River and along 5th Avenue from Prince George Drive to Zeekoe Road, which covers both Grassy Park and Lotus River. The work is planned to take place from today, 19 February 2025 until Friday, 2 May 2025, if all goes as planned.
‘Work along these roads in Grassy Park and Lotus River will take place between 09:00 and 15:30 from Sunday to Friday. It is anticipated that two nights of work will be required in February at the intersection of Prince George Drive and 5th Avenue from 19:00 to 04:30 in the morning. Residents and business owners can expect some noise during this time. We thank you in advance for your patience. These maintenance projects form part of our efforts to keep Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
The works include the removal of the existing surface and the resurfacing of these roads, as well as the replacement of kerbs and channels. Selected sections of the sidewalks will also be resurfaced.
There will be temporary lane closures during construction, but these will be scheduled during off-peak times to minimise disruption of traffic in the area.
